One Academy Rule:
?Every pupil and adult is expected to behave in a responsible manner, both to themselves and others, showing consideration, courtesy and respect for other people at all times.?
Message from the Principal:
I feel very privileged to be the Principal at Abbey Park Primary Academy. Abbey Park is an
Academy that is support by Northern Education Trust and we believe in living the ?One Academy Rule? where ?Every pupil and child is expected to behave in a manner, both to themselves and others, showing consideration, respect and courtesy for other people at all times.?
Abbey Park is such a special place, partly because it is situated in beautiful grounds in a beautiful part of the country, but mainly because it is full of beauty inside, where our children?s characters shine and sparkle. Our children are so full of character and hope and every day they lift my spirits; their viewpoint on life is so refreshing and uplifting. Because we believe our children are so precious, we have called our classes after precious stones.
I also feel very privileged to be the Principal here because I am supported by such a dedicated group of staff, both teachers, teaching assistants and administration staff who, together with myself are committed to giving our children here the best education possible, so they can grow up and take their place with confidence in the world.
This education is embedded in a curriculum that offers a variety of learning experiences based on high quality phonics, English and Maths lessons, enriched with drama, music(consisting of guitar, ukulele, drumming and choir lessons) and sport, an area where we excel.
A key part of our curriculum we are developing is a programme of self-belief, called ?Kaleidoscope?. This enables all children to take part in activities using colour that will enhance their confidence. This may be in a small group or 1:1 situation, led by our trained
Our mission here at Abbey Park is to encourage excellence for all; enabling everyone to reach their potential in a creative, purposeful environment, where they can develop in happiness and security. Above all, we aim for our Academy to be a welcoming place, filled with learning, where we can achieve together through kindness, confidence and self-esteem.
When I am not at school I love to spend time with my family, running on the hills with my dog, playing the piano, practising yoga and cooking for my family and friends.
